Gnomes of Berlin: A Living Art Project
Gnomes of Berlin living art project is a creative and immersive collaboration of Berlin’s community!
Each of you assumes the role of seeker as you explore the various layers of our whimsical little town, keeping your eyes open for the mysterious minis!
The gnomes represent various attributes and the gnome that permits you to find it intentionally allows its discovery because that attribute is believed to apply to you in this segment of space and time.
You must gno a few things before you begin…
The enchanters are the keepers of the gnomes and are responsible for placing them during the respective times.
In the event that you locate three gnomes in one day, you are then able to choose one of the enchanters respective to the gnome who will then gift you a treasure of their choosing.
You then are dubbed a Gnight and will be allowed to join the keepers of the lore.
There are many gnomes hidden around town (within the city limits).
When a gnome reveals itself to you, scan the QR Code on the bottom and capture a photo with or of the Gnome.
The Gnome is yours to keep – a tiny piece of lore from our gnarly part of the shore.
In exchange for this lore gift, you will be asked to submit art in the form of a visual, poem, or small written work to contribute to the living art project.
You are welcome to do so anonymously or reveal your identity while completing the task.
Should you decide to destroy the gnome in some maleficent manner, be sure to record its destruction so its lore may be honored to the very end.
Each visual art work, poem, or story you submit becomes part of an ever-growing tapestry of folklore, preserved for future seekers.
Questions shall not be answered. Simply follow the quest without question.
Gnomes will drop four times per year during the Vernal Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumnal Equinox, and Winter Solstice.
